The general framework of the M3C details the rules of validation, progression, attendance... It is important to know them.
Framing AMU
The present M3C may be modified by the CFVU and brought to the attention of the students as soon as possible according to the evolution of the health situation.
The terms of control of knowledge and skills (M3C) of the University of Aix-Marseille's Bachelor's degree programs are organized according to three levels:
- level 1: the present framework of the institution,
- level 2: the prescriptions common to all the bachelor's degrees of a given component,
- level 3: provisions specific to a program: teaching models and M3C specific to teaching units (UE).
The level 2 and 3 rules of the components must strictly respect the level 1 rules of the institution.
The organization and conduct of examinations must also comply with the AMU examination charter.
Architecture and general principles of degree organization
-
Architecture
Each degree is organized into semesters, which are themselves broken down into blocks of knowledge and skills and into teaching units (UE). A defined number of credits (ECTS) is assigned to each UE.
A semester corresponds to a total of at least 30 credits, distributed over all the units that make up the semester. An academic year is composed of two semesters which correspond to 60 ECTS for a "regular" rhythm. In the case of double degrees or intensive courses or degrees with "access to health", the year may offer an additional number of credits.
A semester can be made up of a single or several blocks of knowledge and skills.
The licence is a level of study validated by the award of 180 credits.
-
Administrative and pedagogical registration
The annual administrative registration allows the student to pay his or her tuition fees: it takes place only once at the beginning of the academic year and therefore covers both semesters.
The number of consecutive annual registrations is limited to five and tripling is not permitted.
Any additional annual registration will be preceded by an orientation interview with the head of the program in question or his/her representative.
Students who have interrupted their higher education studies for at least three years are entitled to annual administrative registration.
The administrative registration must be completed by a semesterly pedagogical registration : for each semester, the student decides on the choice of the UE he will follow, especially in the cases where the program offers optional elements.
This pedagogical registration is a prerequisite for exam registration. -
Principles of validation of credited courses
The teaching units can be acquired in two ways:
- by CAPITALIZATION: when the UE is validated according to the criteria defined below for each diploma, the associated credits are definitively obtained;
- by COMPENSATION: when the grade obtained for the UE does not allow for capitalization, the UE can nevertheless be compensated. This compensation is carried out within the courses defined by the institution. It also takes place within coherent groupings of UEs, organized in particular in blocks of knowledge and skills clearly identified in the M3Cs. The deficient UE is then declared acquired by compensation.
- For a partial validation of acquired experience (partial VAE), the UE can only be acquired by capitalization.
The educational elements affected by a validation of prior learning without a mark or an exemption from examination are not taken into account in the calculation of numerical averages. These averages are established on the basis of the EU averages weighted according to the relevant credits.
The methods of testing knowledge and skills specific to each course are detailed in level 3 and published on the component websites: it is up to each student to take note of them and to refer to them precisely.
The semesters are constructed in such a way as to give the student the possibility of progressively developing his or her training project.
-
Determination of the mention obtained at the licence
It is done on the basis of the general average (GPA) of the years making up the degree according to the following levels:
- 10≤MG<12/20: mention Passable,
- 12≤MG<14/20: mention Fair,
- 14≤MG<16/20: mention Bien,
- 16≤MG<18/20: mention Very Good,
- 18≤MG≤20/20: mention Très Bien with congratulations of the jury.
For students who did not complete their entire degree at the University of Aix-Marseille, the calculation of the mention will obey the modalities specified above, but only on the basis of the average of the semesters validated within this university.
For a diploma obtained by total validation of acquired experience (total VAE), no mention is attributed.
Specific provisions of the license
-
How to register
The number of consecutive annual registrations in the license program is limited to five, distributed as follows: a maximum of three consecutive registrations for all license levels 1 and 2; a maximum of two consecutive registrations in license 3.
Any additional annual registration will be preceded by an orientation interview with the head of the program in question or his/her representative.
-
Organization and rules of the control of knowledge and skills
Organization of the control of knowledge and skills:
The semester courses give rise to an evaluation of the knowledge acquired, the organization of which is the sole responsibility of the component in compliance with the regulations.
In this perspective, three types of organization of the control of knowledge are possible within a UE:- assessment by means of a terminal test (CT) ;
- assessment by a combination of terminal and continuous assessment according to the weightings fixed by the component (CCP);
- assessment by means of a continuous assessment (CCI).
When the CCI is set up for a UE, it is composed of at least three tests spread over the semester. None of the tests organized within the framework of the CCI can represent more than 50% of the final mark of the UE.
Organization of examination sessions:
Whatever the type of organization of the control of knowledge retained, two exam sessions are proposed: the UE having to be re-evaluated in the second session will be those which will have been acquired neither by capitalization nor by compensation at the end of the first session. The mark of the second session prevails in all cases.
For practical work as well as for the UE and elements of UE that have been subject to a partial continuous assessment during the semester, the opportunity to keep or not the continuous assessment marks of the first session for the second session is left to the discretion of the component.Attendance obligation:
Students enrolled in a course are required to attend the tutorials and/or practical work that are part of the curriculum. Any exemption to this rule will be exercised under the conditions set by the component.
Attendance to all the exams of session 1 is compulsory (final exams at the end of the semester and continuous assessment exams).
Any student concerned by the second session is required to take the tests for the UE not acquired in session 1 according to the conditions specified by the component. If they do not, they will automatically be declared "failed" at the second session, without application of the compensation rules specified in the following paragraph. -
Knowledge validation criteria applied in the institution
Validation of the UE :
A UE is acquired by capitalization as soon as its mark is higher or equal to 10/20.
If the UE has constituent elements, the grade for the UE is obtained by calculating the weighted average of the elements that make it up. In this case, the respective coefficients of the constituent elements of the UE are specified in the specific provisions for the course. These elements are also considered as definitively validated, whatever the mark attributed to each of them, as soon as the UE is capitalized. The constituent elements cannot be capitalized; a mark equal to or higher than 10 out of 20 for a constituent element within a non-capitalized or non-compensated UE can nevertheless be kept between the first and second session of the same academic year, under the conditions set by the component.
The EUs are compensated within the same semester (including internship): when the mark for the EU is less than 10/20 but the student has obtained the average for the semester, the EU is then validated by compensation, provided that the student has been present at all the tests of the EU. Any UE obtained, by capitalization or by compensation, is definitive, without possibility of renunciation (a UE obtained cannot be retaken in a second session).
If the UE obtained is made up of several elements, these are also considered as definitively validated (impossible to retake them in the second session), whatever the mark attributed to each element of the UE.
When a UE made up of several elements is not validated, the student keeps the benefit of the elements for which he/she has obtained a positive result and/or a mark equal to or higher than 10/20, from one session to the next.Validation of the semester and the year:
The grade for the semester is obtained by calculating the weighted average of the units that make up the semester, plus any tenths of bonus points (see paragraph on bonuses).
The credits attributed to each TU are used as coefficients for the calculation of the overall averages for the semester, the year and the degree.
The semester is validated when the mark is equal to or higher than 10/20: it is then capitalized, provided that the student has been present at all the tests of the semester. If the grade for the semester is less than 10/20, it can be compensated by the other semester of the same course as follows, provided that the student has attended all the tests:
- Semesters 1 and 2 are compensated;
- Semesters 3 and 4 are compensated;
- Semesters 5 and 6 compensate each other. Semesters at different levels cannot be compensated for each other within the degree. Whether it is validated by capitalization or by compensation, an acquired semester gives the student the corresponding 30 credits in all cases.
The year is validated as soon as the average of the two semesters that make up the year is greater than or equal to 10/20 (whether the two semesters are capitalized or one of them is compensated), provided that the student has been present at all the tests.
Only a semester that has been previously capitalized participates in the compensation, which takes place at the end of either the odd or the even semester. If two semesters are compensated within the same year, the 60 annual credits are considered acquired.
Validation of the license:
The awarding of the license is subject to the validation of each of the three years that make up the license and results in the awarding of 180 credits. The first, second and third years of the degree are not compensated for each other. Validation of the diploma by compensation between the annual levels can only be pronounced by decision of the jury.
Issuance of the DEUG :
The Diplôme d'Etudes Universitaires Générales (DEUG) can be issued upon the student's request, as long as the student has validated the first and second years of the Bachelor's degreeNo eliminatory grade:
There are no eliminatory marks in the Bachelor's degree, whether for the validation of the constituent elements of the UE, the UE, the semester, the year or the degree.
-
Rules of progression
To access the next year, a student must have validated the current year (obtaining the 60 credits of L1 necessary to go to L2, obtaining the 60 credits of L2 necessary to go to L3). Otherwise, the student is declared deferred.
Nevertheless, and upon the decision of the jury, the following adjustments are possible, notably at the end of the first session of the odd semester
- a student who has been deferred and has acquired at least 30 credits out of the 60 annual credits may be authorized to take certain UEs of the year above in advance, up to a limit of 18 credits. He/she is then declared to be an adjourned student (AJRE);
- a student who has been deferred and has acquired at least 48 credits out of the 60 that make up the year may be authorized to register in the year above: he/she is then declared deferred and authorized to continue (AJAC).
The effective implementation of these adjustments is possible at the end of the first session of the odd semester or after the second session.
In any case, the jury remains sovereign as to the effective implementation of these adjustments and its decisions cannot be contested.
Access to the third year of the license is only possible, by decision of the jury, if the student has fully validated the first year and 48 ECTS of the second year.
-
Exceptions to the rules
Support pathway:
Within the framework of the ORE law on student orientation and success, students who have been accepted as "yes if" students will benefit from specific support in scientific subjects and/or in written expression and arguments.
Upon registration, the institution and the student sign a pedagogical contract and agree to comply with the accommodation and support measures offered to them. Compliance with this contract will condition the continuation of the program in L1S2.For students benefiting from the ORE system, the passage from S1 to S2 will be subject to the approval of the jury:
- For students who have validated S1, the passage to S2 will be automatic, regardless of their involvement and attendance in the subjects taught.
- For students who have not validated their S1, access to the S2 courses will be conditional on their involvement and attendance in the ORE courses.
Repeating a year in these support courses is subject to the decision of the jury under the conditions set by the component in level 2 of the knowledge control procedures.
Bachelor's degree with "health access" option (L.AS):
The terms and conditions for the assessment of knowledge for the licenses with the "health access" option and the specific health access pathway (PASS) are described in a specific framework document.
-
Optional internships
The UE or "internship" courses mentioned in the course syllabus are included in the compensation.
In addition, students have the possibility of doing optional internships in cycles L and M, which must be accompanied by an agreement. These internships are subject to prior validation by the course director and to a non-credited evaluation in the form of an additional UE.
Specific conditions for the STAPS license
General provisions concerning the organization of teaching
The training is given in the form of lectures, tutorials and practical work, which may include internships and personal work. Some courses are based on independent work by students, notably via training and self-assessment platforms (French, English).
During the TD or TP sessions, students are divided into groups by the administration. A student cannot change group without the written approval of the person in charge of his year or the person in charge of the APSA department.
-
Attendance
Attendance at lectures is not controlled, but students are strongly advised to be present to increase their chances of passing the exam.
The presence of students in tutorials and practical work is strictly mandatory.
Absences from tutorials and practical work are recorded by the teachers responsible for the course. When a student is found absent from a tutorial or practical work, the continuous assessment mark (CC) obtained is then reduced by a coefficient defined according to the number of absences found, as described in the table below.
1 absence (2h)
2 absences (4h)
+ More than 2 absences (>4h)
TD / TP CC * 0,8 CC * 0,5 ABI When a student returns to class after an absence, he/she must inform the teacher of his/her return and the reasons for the absence(s). In the case where a student has been found absent from a course more than twice without official justification (automatically resulting in an ABI for that course, see rule above), the teacher may refuse the student. This decision can be totally justified by safety issues.
In the case of long term absences (more than one week) or in the case of absences due to an official convocation (driving test, medical visit, citizenship day...), students must imperatively, even before the date of the absence or within a maximum of 5 working days, contact the teacher in charge of their year of study, and provide all the documents justifying this absence. In the case of an official justification, the teacher in charge will have, as far as possible, to integrate the student in another group of TD or TP functioning another day.
The "unjustified" nature of an absence is assessed on a case-by-case basis. The application of a reduction is only made in the case where the student does not justify his absence in time or when his justifications are questionable or insufficient.
-
Delay
A student arriving late for a class, a tutorial or a practical course may be refused by the teacher and considered ipso facto as absent. A late arrival can be considered as soon as all the students are seated and the course has effectively started and/or the students are already engaged in a supervised activity. In any case, a delay may be considered as such from the minute following the beginning of the class as long as the class has not started ahead of the time indicated on the timetable.
General provisions concerning the organization of examination sessions
-
General
The organization of examinations is governed by the provisions specified in the examination charter validated by the CFVU.
-
Examination Sessions
Two exam sessions are organized per academic year (according to the university schedule). The first session takes place during the semester of reference. The second session, known as the make-up session, takes place in June. A special session may be organized for high-level athletes and for those who have been granted a replacement session in September. The UEs or courses to be re-evaluated in the second session will be those that have not been acquired either by capitalization or by compensation at the end of the first session.
Taking into account justified and unjustified absences:
The status of "failing" is assigned to any student who has recorded a justified or unjustified absence from a final exam. This rule applies to all exam sessions, for courses evaluated in a single session as well as for courses evaluated in two sessions.
Failure to attend will result in the non calculation of the semester average and therefore the invalidation of the semester.
Students who are absent during a continuous or final test have 5 working days, reduced to 2 working days for students on work-study programs, to justify their absence to the school of the component to which they belong. This period starts on the date of the test for which the absence was noted.
At the end of the last exam session, students who have not attended the exam and who have made a specific request and whose absence has been justified may be admitted to an exceptional substitution session organized by the component.
An ad hoc committee of the component is competent to rule on these requests. It assesses the exceptional nature and seriousness of the circumstances of the justified absence, based on the following criteria
- The occurrence of serious events that have physically prevented the student from participating in the test, such as hospitalization;
- A serious family event (such as death) affecting a family member directly related to the student (spouse, child, father, mother, siblings).
In the case of continuous assessment, it is up to the component to determine to what extent an absence from one or more tests that make up the assessment will determine the student's default status or the attribution of a justified or unjustified absence to the corresponding pedagogical element.
Consideration of exam exemptions and validation of prior learning:
The educational elements affected by a validation of prior learning or an exemption from examination are not taken into account in the calculation of numerical averages. These are established on the basis of the EU averages weighted according to the relevant credits.
Semester bonus:
The practice of one or two optional activities giving rise to a semester bonus is possible: this choice will be expressed by the student at the time of his semester pedagogical registration.
The nature of these activities will fall under one of the following categories: 1) sport (the sport bonus does not apply to the STAPS license), 2) student commitment, 3) deepening of knowledge, 4) culture, 5) creativity and entrepreneurship. For the five bonus categories, a common base of activities is proposed by the institution, which is binding on all components. In addition, the components may propose other activities within these five categories in accordance with the grading levels for the bonus category concerned. These activities are listed in level 2 of the component's MCC (see bonus chart). It is the student's responsibility to contact the appropriate faculty department for information.
The bonus obtained in this way results in an increase in the average of the UE of the semester, within a ceiling fixed at 0.5 point of increase, whatever the number of activities effectively followed by the student. A bonus taken into account in session 1 will also be taken into account in session 2. On the other hand, in the case where a student has to retake his semester the following year, he will not keep the benefit of the bonus points obtained.
A semester bonus cannot be taken into account if the bonus activity is identical to the content of a compulsory or optional course present in the semester (example: it is not possible to claim a sports bonus if there is a sports UE integrated into the curriculum itself, as is the case for the STAPS license).
Optional internships:
In addition, students have the possibility of doing optional internships in the L and M cycles, which must be accompanied by an agreement. These internships are subject to prior validation by the course director and to a non-credited evaluation in the form of an additional UE.
-
Types of knowledge control
Obtaining the License involves practical tests, written tests and/or oral tests. In each Teaching Unit (UE), the aptitudes and the acquisition of knowledge are controlled,
- Either by a final test (CF)
- Or by a regular continuous assessment (CC) and a final assessment (CF), each counting for a certain percentage of the grade of the course (the % of the CC and CF are determined according to the hourly volume of the CM and TD and are presented to the students during the course) - Or by an integral continuous assessment (CCI)
When the CCI is established, it consists of at least three tests spread over the semester, mostly organized in class. None of the tests organized within the framework of the CCI can represent more than 50% of the final mark for the course concerned.
Students who are absent from a test during a final exam must attend the second session.
In the case of absences from continuous assessment tests; if these absences are justifiable, upon the decision of an ad hoc pedagogical committee, the student may be assessed in 100% of the final test. If these absences are not justifiable or incompatible with the pedagogical need to be able to certify a practical skill, the student will be declared "failing" insofar as the skills related to ECUE cannot be evaluated. When an unjustified absence has been noted in the CC of the first session, this absence will be transformed into 0/20 in CC for the second session
For the ECUs and ECU components that have been subject to a partial continuous assessment during the semester, the marks will be kept between session 1 and session 2. The marks of the ECUE obtained within a UE not obtained will be automatically carried over to the second session but not from one year to the next.
In the first session, for the ECUEs including TDs and TPs, the final exam counts for 60% or 50% of the mark, the continuous exam for 40% or 50% (except for APSAs, see tables below). In the second session, whether the continuous assessment mark obtained - if applicable - for the ECUEs is above or below the average, it will be deferred up to 20% of the total mark for a final assessment at 80% of the total mark.
These tests (CC and CF) are either written tests (essay questions or files or MCQs), or oral examinations, or practical tests. All tests are graded on a scale of 0 to 20.
These two types of evaluation concern both the knowledge acquired in the lectures and the practical tests.
A student who has not acquired the course but who has obtained an average grade in the course unit is not entitled to take the second examination session for this final test.
A student who has not acquired a course but who has obtained an average in one or more courses of the course is not entitled to take the second examination session for the validated courses.

Provisions concerning the A.P.S.A.
Multipurpose APSA
Continuous control multipurpose APSA 70 % TP ; 30 % TD Final exam Semester 1 70 % 30 % written Semester 2 70 % 30% written Semester 3 60 % 40% written Semester 4 50 % 50% written Semester 5 50 % 50% written Semester 6 50 % 50% written Specialized APSA
This APSA will be chosen by the student for semesters 1 to 4 (+ 5 and 6 for the EM course) without possibility of change. It is considered to be the student's sport specialty. The "interregional university" level of practice is recommended.
The evaluation of the teaching in the specialized APSAs must include a continuous assessment and a written or oral final examination.
Continuous assessment in specialized sports 70 % TP ; 30 % TD Final exam Semester 1 70 % 30 % written Semester 2 70 % 30% written Semester 3 60 % 40% written Semester 4 50 % 50% Oral Semester 5 50 % 50% Written Semester 6 50 % 50 % oral Regardless of the type of APSA taught (multipurpose, specialty), the continuous assessment mark obtained at the end of the cycle or semester is final and cannot be made up during another examination session (except in exceptional cases examined by the examination board).
Thus, only the final examination mark can be the subject of an additional examination in session 2. -
Injured student and presence at the TD and TP of the A.P.S.A.
The injured student must be present at the TP and TD of the A.P.S.A., if his health and mobility allow it. Therefore, he/she will be able to actively participate in all the situations of the lesson that do not require motor engagement.
Insofar as he/she satisfies these elements, he/she will be graded on a continuous basis with the exception of the part concerning only physical practice (the grade strictly for physical practice will then be 0). The principle is that a student who has not been able to practice should not be evaluated any better than a student who has produced a modest performance.Any early resumption must be clearly validated by the physician. The certificate must be given to the professors concerned and to the pedagogical secretary.
If an injury or illness prevents the student from practicing for more than a week, the student must contact the teacher in charge of the APSA and the teacher in charge of the year. An ad hoc committee will meet at each examination session to examine the particular cases raised by the pedagogical directors.
-
Jury, composition and competence
For each diploma or certificate, a jury is appointed in accordance with legal requirements, on the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, by delegation of the President of the University. The President of the jury or the Vice-Dean in charge of training mandated to represent him/her is responsible for drawing up the examination report. In particular, he/she ensures that the minutes are signed by all the members of the jury and that they are drawn up in accordance with the regulations in force. The President of the jury draws up and signs the list of candidates declared admitted.
In the event of a material error duly noted, the jury is reconvened by the President to deliberate. The jury synthesizes the results obtained by each student, taking into account the compensation and capitalization methods provided for in the system of skills and knowledge assessment. The results of the assessment of knowledge are published each year. After the results have been announced, the jury is required to communicate the grades. The jury is sovereign and its decisions are irrevocable.
-
Communication of results
Examination results cannot be given by telephone. Only the official results posted at the Faculty of Sport Sciences are legally binding.
The transcript of grades and the certificate of success for a diploma can be consulted and downloaded online via ENT. -
Rules for consulting copies
Students have the possibility to consult their copies after the communication of the results, in order to verify that no material error has been made(the consultation of the copies is in no way an explanation of the reasons for the grade attributed). They must provide a written request (letter or e-mail) to the year's pedagogical director specifying the copy they wish to consult with a copy to the pedagogical secretariat. The deadline for making this request is given at the time of the communication of the results. The date of consultation is specified a few days later, depending on the availability of the pedagogical director of the year concerned.
Students cannot be represented. No change in grade can be made following this consultation, except in the case of a material error duly noted in the grade report. In case of absence from the consultation of the requested copy(ies), the student may be refused the consultation of the copy(ies) for the following exam session. The President of the Jury, or the person who replaces him/her, is responsible for consulting the copies.
-
Fraud and Discipline
The University endeavors, within the framework of Decree No. 2020-785 of June 26, 2020 on disciplinary procedure in public institutions of higher education, to combat fraud, in particular by reminding students of the instructions and sanctions at the beginning of tests, by active and continuous monitoring and by widely distributing the present charter.
Procedure in case of fraud or presumed fraud
In the event of fraud or attempted fraud, the supervisor must take all necessary measures to stop it, without interrupting the student's participation in the current exam and in the following tests.
In the case of substitution of persons or disturbance of the examination process, the invigilator may order the student to leave the examination room. The invigilator must seize any unauthorized documents and materials that could later be used to establish the facts of the case, provided that they do not contain any personal data.
At the end of the test, and in the presence of the student concerned, the invigilator must record in the room report all the elements that allow the events to be described. This report must be countersigned by all the supervisors and the student concerned. If the student refuses, this will be noted in the minutes.
The supervisor in charge informs the president of the jury and the director of the component in writing. The latter will inform the President of the University, who will refer the matter to the disciplinary section.
Access to the student's personal data, which may be contained in a cell phone or any other data storage device, must be subject to the student's prior agreement, which must be recorded in the minutes. However, under no circumstances should proctors keep the student's cell phone or other data storage device beyond the end of the test.
Any possession during the test of documents or devices not expressly authorized will be considered attempted fraud and will be dealt with according to the procedure described below.Conduct of the jury
If the candidate is not excluded from the examination room, his or her paper will be treated in the same way as those of the other candidates. In the event of flagrante delicto or attempted fraud, the jury will deliberate on the results of the candidates who have been the subject of a report, as described above, under the same conditions as for the other candidates. However, no certificate of achievement or transcript of marks may be issued until the Disciplinary Committee has given its decision.
Procedure before the disciplinary section
The University shall ensure that the investigation and judgment of cases brought before the disciplinary section takes place as quickly as possible. Subject to the provisions of Point 3.2.9.2, until the disciplinary section has given its decision, the accused student has the same rights and duties as any other student.
A) Investigation operations
The president of the disciplinary section appoints a commission composed of two rapporteurs (one rapporteur from one of the two colleges composed of professors and an assistant rapporteur, a member of the users' college). This committee is responsible for establishing the facts by any means it deems appropriate.- It must summon the person concerned, who may be accompanied by his or her legal counsel, in order to hear his or her observations.
- The commission may request all necessary testimony.
- It shall draw up a report which shall be forwarded to the president of the disciplinary section of the Disciplinary Committee.
B) Examination of the case
The Disciplinary Committee is constituted in accordance with the provisions of article R811-20 of the Education Code.
The person concerned is heard again, accompanied, if necessary, by his/her counsel. The Disciplinary Committee deliberates and votes on the sanction, which must be approved by a majority of those present, while respecting the secrecy of the vote. Instruction sessions and meetings of the disciplinary committee are not public.C) Sanctions incurred in case of fraud
The sanctions that can be pronounced are the following:- Warning
- Reprimand
- A measure of accountability
- Exclusion from the school for a maximum of 5 years (with or without a suspended sentence if the exclusion does not exceed 2 years).
- Permanent exclusion from the establishment
- Exclusion from any public institution of higher education for a maximum period of 5 years
- Permanent exclusion from any public institution of higher education
The sanction pronounced by the disciplinary section leads to the nullity of the test for which the fraud was noted. The disciplinary section may also declare the group of tests or the examination session or the competition null and void for the student concerned.
Procedure for acknowledging the facts
The President of the University may implement the applicable procedure provided for in article R 811-40 of the Education Code. The student concerned is summoned and the President or his or her representative proposes a sanction if the facts are acknowledged. The person concerned then has 15 days to accept or refuse the proposed sanction. The proposed sanction is forwarded to the disciplinary section.

Special provisions for specific populations
-
Educational contract
A pedagogical contract must be drawn up before November of the current academic year for high-level sports students, salaried students, students with disabilities or serious illnesses, and students with special responsibilities in university life. This contract, approved by the Direction, refers exclusively to the terms of knowledge control, to credits and to the content of the courses of the current academic year.
It cannot be modified after December 20 of the current year. However, all the provisions apply if the student concerned has not signed the contract. -
High level sports students
Terms of application:
During the first term of the current academic year, a "High Level Joint Committee" examines the applications of students wishing to benefit from the convention in favor of high level athletes and decides on the list of candidates retained for the current year. This list becomes official after signature of the following authorities:
- The Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences,
- The Regional Director of Youth and Sports,
- The President of the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee.
Although the general terms and conditions concerning studies apply to high-level sports students, a certain number of special provisions have been made to enable them to pursue a university course and their sports career at the same time. The agreement defines specific provisions concerning attendance and evaluation of the students concerned.
These students must plan their academic program with the teacher responsible for the agreement in the form of an annual educational contract signed by both parties, taking into account the specificities of each year of study.
Each high-level sports student signs this contract defining the courses to be followed and the test periods to be taken according to his or her sporting obligations. A special session organized in September or, exceptionally and on the decision of the Dean, an extension of the traditional examination periods, may be used to adapt to the student's sports schedule.
The individual educational contract will specify, in addition to the exemptions relating to attendance on the one hand, the units that remain to be validated on the other hand, the grades that the student wishes to keep, taking into account the knowledge control methods decided by the Faculty Council, for the current academic year.
Only unexpected changes in the student's sports schedule may allow him/her to change his/her academic contract (e.g.: sports selection...).Attendance:
The obligation of attendance to the TP and TD also applies to high level sports students. However, they will not be penalized in the case of absences justified by an official sports schedule duly attested and provided to the person in charge of teaching high level athletes. On the other hand, for all other reasons for absence, high level sports students must respect the rules applicable to other students.
Study arrangements:
High level sports students can benefit from special arrangements concerning the duration of their studies. In this case, they choose certain courses for the current year and the corresponding tests. The grades obtained may be kept afterwards (2nd exam session or high level make-up session), including those below the average, provided that they are equal to or higher than 8/20. Grades may also be retained for any new registration.
In any case, they must specify their choice in writing to the Faculty of Sport Science's pedagogical schooling service at least one month before the beginning of the examination session concerned.
As far as possible, high-level sports students will be integrated into groups and teaching units compatible with their sports constraints.Examination of knowledge:
High level sportsmen and women students may choose, on the proposal of their academic supervisor (high level sportsmen and women), with the agreement of their academic supervisor and the Vice-Dean in charge of training, either
- either to take the exams normally at the sessions scheduled for the other students,
- or to take part in the special session organized for high-level sports students (in the case of sports constraints that do not allow them to take part in the common sessions).
During a session, in the case of a mixed evaluation "continuous assessment and final assessment", the students who could not be evaluated in continuous assessment because of absences justified by their sports schedule, will be able to ask for an evaluation in 100% final assessment.
In any case, they must specify their choice in writing to the Faculty of Sport Science's educational department at least one month before the beginning of the examination session concerned.
Students are reminded that the special terminal examination system (in case of prolonged absences during the continuous assessment) does not only present advantages for those who choose it, since they will be evaluated on a single test, as opposed to the continuous assessment or a combination of the two. Consequently, it is strongly recommended that high-level sports students make every effort to participate in continuous testing.
When the student is on an internship or in a competition in France or abroad during an examination period, he or she may exceptionally request permission to take tests remotely. In this case, all precautions will be taken to ensure that the examination procedures comply with and are identical to those of all students (duration of the test, supervision, work without documents, ...).
Follow-up of studies :
The person in charge of teaching high-level athletes is responsible for helping high-level athletes designated by the above-mentioned committee to make the necessary adjustments to their curriculum and to harmonize it with their sports schedule. He/she sets up the tutoring and collects the official documents necessary for the follow-up (e.g.: invitations to training courses and competitions that may lead to absences, sports results, etc.). He/she can help the student to obtain additional resources (scholarships, medical follow-up, professional contracts, university rooms...). Students are invited to contact him regularly during his office hours.
Obligations :
Students benefiting from the convention in favor of high-level athletes commit to:
- Represent the Faculty of Sports Sciences in a dignified manner at sporting or public events (e.g. FNSU championships, TV reports, etc.) and to take part, as far as possible, in events organized by the Faculty of Sports Sciences' partners (e.g. Regional Council, General Council, CDOS, CROS, Municipality, etc.).
- Respect the rules of sports ethics and of the University. Any serious breach (e.g.: positive anti-doping test, non-respect of the pedagogical contract, fraud during exams) would lead to the exclusion of the student concerned from the program.
- To provide:
- To the person in charge of the high level athletes: the duly attested sports schedule and, during the year, any modifications,
- To the technical manager in charge of the student's sports career: the academic schedule for the current year.
-
Eligible students and trainees in continuing education
Terms of application:
Students wishing to benefit from the student employee scheme must produce the following documents as soon as possible: proof of affiliation to a non-student social security system, work contract and timetable.
They must also make a written request to the Dean of the Faculty at the beginning of each academic semester. The files will be submitted for approval to an ad hoc committee chaired by the Vice-Dean in charge of training, who will decide whether to allow them to benefit from the derogatory status attached to this status, in accordance with national regulations.
Two working sessions of the salaried commission are planned: October of the current year and February of the current year (refer to the university schedule at the end of the guide for the dates and check the precise dates of the commission on the notice boards of each year of training).Knowledge control:
As part of their educational contract, student employees may benefit from the following special provisions:
- For a first registration in a diploma, the contract specifies the courses that the student wishes to take according to the sessions and according to his/her schedule as an employee.
- For a second registration in a diploma, the contract specifies the units and courses that remain to be validated and the grades that the student wishes to keep; he/she may keep the grades below the average and at least equal to 08/20 that he/she acquired the previous year. The choice must be specified in writing to the secretariat of the year of study. The cycle directors sign the pedagogical contracts. This measure applies only to students with a current salaried contract.
Attendance:
Students who officially have the status of salaried student and eligible continuing education trainees may benefit from special regulations regarding attendance. The presence of the students in the practical and directed works is strictly obligatory. Nevertheless, an individualized rate of absences can be defined in a pedagogical contract, in agreement with the person in charge of the year of study, according to the salaried schedule. Beyond the contractually defined rate of absences, the student's continuous assessment grade will be weighted in proportion to the number of absences.
Beyond a certain number of absences, the student will be marked absent. As an exception, a student who is employed, upon express written request and in view of his or her work contract, may, after examination by the ad hoc committee, be authorized by the Dean to take only the final exam for a course in the year of study in which he or she is registered. In this context, students are reminded that the special final examination system does not only present advantages for students who choose it, since they will be evaluated on a single test, unlike those who benefit from continuous assessment or a combination of both. Consequently, it is strongly recommended that
Therefore, employed students are strongly advised to make every effort to participate in continuous testing.
Employed students must notify their supervisor within five business days of any unplanned absence not related to their work schedule.
However, salaried students must be aware that taking exams is a right that can be enforced against their employer, who has a duty to release them on this occasion. Thus, a student employee cannot justify his or her absence from exams because of a professional activity. -
Foreign students (benefiting from international exchanges, ERASMUS, CREPUQ, FreeMover)
The question of the evaluation methods for foreign students is important. Indeed, the level of these students could be badly evaluated because of the difficulties of writing a copy in French or of understanding very fast exams of the QCM type.
To overcome these difficulties, the Faculty of Sport Sciences can offer oral evaluations to some of these students. The foreign student may thus ask to choose his or her mode of evaluation (written or oral), a choice that will be submitted to an ad hoc committee. If the written mode is chosen, the student will be able to benefit from an additional 1/3 time if he/she so requests. This decision will be the subject of a contract signed one month before the examination period (this period will allow the foreign student time to evaluate his/her progress in French). The precise modalities of the orals are left to the discretion of the teachers (duration, preparation time or not, etc....), the teachers' concern being to ensure as much as possible a comparable level of evaluation for all students.
This type of oral can only be organized for final evaluations and not for continuous assessments. Finally, these orals must take place during (or around) the exam period, after the end of classes.
There are no make-up sessions for foreign students.
Foreign students whose mother tongue is French are excluded from these special arrangements.

Framing AMU
The present M3C may be modified by the CFVU and brought to the attention of the students as soon as possible according to the evolution of the health situation.
The terms of control of knowledge and skills (M3C) of the professional license courses (LP) of the University of Aix-Marseille are organized according to three levels:
- level 1: the present framework of the establishment,
- level 2: the prescriptions common to all LPs of the same component,
- level 3: provisions specific to a course: teaching models and M3C specific to teaching units (UE).
The level 2 and 3 rules of the components must strictly respect the level 1 rules of the institution.
The organization and conduct of examinations must also comply with the AMU Examination Charter.
Architecture and general principles of degree organization
-
Architecture
Each professional license is organized into semesters, which are themselves broken down into blocks of knowledge and skills and teaching units (UE). A defined number of credits (ECTS) is assigned to each UE. A semester corresponds to a total of 30 credits, distributed over all the units that make it up. An academic year is composed of two semesters: it includes a total of 60 credits.
The professional license is a level corresponding to 180 European credits at the end of specific and professionalized training courses. These training courses allow for the progressive development of students' professional projects and correspond to the acquisition of a number of credits between 60 and 180.
-
Administrative and pedagogical registration
Annual administrative registration allows students to pay their tuition fees: it takes place only once at the beginning of the academic year and therefore covers both semesters.
For professional licenses in 180 ECTS, the number of consecutive annual registrations is limited to three unless the year's jury decides otherwise and authorizes repetition. Triple enrolment is not allowed.
For the 120 ECTS LP, the number of consecutive annual enrolments is limited to two unless otherwise decided by the yearly jury which may authorize repetition. Triple enrollment is not allowed.
For professional licenses in 60 ECTS, the number of consecutive annual registrations is limited to one unless otherwise decided by the year's jury which may authorize repetition. Triple enrolment is not allowed.Students who have interrupted their higher education studies for at least three years are entitled to annual administrative registration.
The administrative registration must be completed by a semester pedagogical registration: for each semester, the student decides on the choice of the UE which he will follow, in particular in the cases where the course offers optional elements. This pedagogical registration is a prerequisite for exam registration.
-
Principles of validation of credited courses
The teaching units can be acquired in two ways:
- by CAPITALIZATION: when the UE is validated according to the criteria defined below, the associated credits are definitively obtained;
- by COMPENSATION: when the grade obtained in the UE does not allow the capitalization, the UE can however be compensated.
-
Determination of the mention obtained at the licence
It is done on the basis of the overall average (MG) of the years making up the degree, according to the following levels:
*10≤MG<12/20: mention Passable,
*12≤MG<14/20: mention Fair,
*14≤MG<16/20: mention Good,
*16≤MG<18/20: mention Very Good,
*18≤MG≤20/20: mention Très Bien with congratulations of the jury. When calculating the average of a year, the coefficients used for weighting are the ECTS.
For students who have not completed their entire degree at the University of Aix-Marseille, the calculation of the mention will obey the modalities specified above, but only on the basis of the average of the coherent groupings of UEs or, failing that, UEs, validated within this university.
For a diploma obtained by total validation of acquired experience (total VAE), no mention is attributed.
Provisions specific to the professional license
-
How to register
The professional degree is a one-year diploma, however, additional registration is possible by jury decision.
-
Organization and rules of the control of knowledge and skills
Organization of knowledge and skills assessment
The semester courses give rise to an evaluation of the knowledge acquired, the organization of which is the sole responsibility of the component in compliance with the regulations.
In this perspective, three types of organization of the control of knowledge are possible within a UE:
- evaluation by means of a terminal test (CT) ;
- assessment by a combination of terminal and continuous assessment according to the weightings fixed by the component (CCP);
- assessment by means of a continuous assessment (CCI).
When the CCI is established for a UE, it is composed of at least three tests spread over the semester. None of the tests organized within the framework of the CCI can represent more than 50% of the final mark of the UE.Organization of examination sessions
Whatever the type of organization of the knowledge control chosen, two examination sessions are proposed: the UE to be re-evaluated in the second session will be those which have been acquired neither by capitalization nor by compensation or for which the student has not chosen to keep the mark superior or equal to 8 at the end of the first session.
In all cases, the mark of the second session prevails. For practical work as well as for the UE and elements of UE which have been subject to a partial continuous assessment during the semester, the opportunity to keep or not the continuous assessment marks of the first session for the second session is left to the discretion of the component.
Obligation of attendance
Students enrolled in a course are required to attend the tutorials and/or practical work that are part of the curriculum. Any exemption to this rule will be exercised under conditions set by the component.
Validation of the UE
A UE is acquired by capitalisation when its mark is higher than or equal to 10/20, provided that the student has been present at all the tests of the UE.
If the UE has constituent elements, the mark for the UE is obtained by calculating the weighted average of the elements that make it up. In this case, the respective coefficients of the component parts of the UE are specified in level 3 of the MCC specific to the course in a ratio of 1 to 3. The compensation between these elements is carried out without eliminatory mark and they are considered as definitively validated as soon as the UE is capitalized. The constituent elements cannot be capitalized; a mark equal to or higher than 10 out of 20 for a constituent element within a non-capitalized or non-compensated UE can nevertheless be retained between the first and second session of the same academic year, under the conditions set by the component.
When the student has not passed the knowledge and skills test, he/she can keep, at his/her request, the benefit of the teaching units for which he/she has obtained a mark equal to or higher than 8 out of 20, for the second session.
Any UE obtained, by capitalization or compensation, is definitive, without possibility of renunciation.
If the EU obtained is made up of several elements, these are also considered as definitively validated (impossible to retake them in the second session), whatever the mark attributed to each element of the EU.
When a UE made up of several elements is not validated, the student keeps the benefit of the elements for which he/she has obtained a positive result and/or a mark equal to or higher than 10/20, from one session to the next. The student must have been present at all the tests of the UE.
Validation of the professional license
The credits assigned to each UE can vary in a ratio of 1 to 3 and are used as coefficients for the calculation of the overall averages for the block (tutored project and internship), and the diploma. However, the professional license is awarded to students under the following two conditions- obtaining an overall average equal to or greater than 10 out of 20 for the year,
- obtaining a weighted average equal to or greater than 10 out of 20 for the block consisting of the tutored project and the internship (although this block cannot be capitalized).
There is no possibility of capitalizing the semester.
In 2022-2023, the awarding of the Professional License diploma should be conditional on the presentation of a certification in English for the license mentions mentioned in the decree of April 3, 2020 relative to the certification in English language for the candidates registered for the national diplomas of license, professional license and the university diploma of technology.
Specific conditions for the STAPS Professional License
General provisions concerning the organization of teaching
The training is given in the form of lectures, tutorials and practical work, which may include internships and personal work.
-
Attendance
Attendance at lectures is required, except in the case of duly justified impediments.
Attendance of students in tutorials and practical work is strictly mandatory.
Absences from tutorials and practical work are recorded by the teachers responsible for the course. When a student is absent from a course, the grade for the continuous assessment (CC) is reduced by a coefficient defined according to the number of absences, as described in the table below.1 absence
(2h)
2 absences
(4h)
+ More than 2 absences
(>4h)
TD / TP CC*0,8 CC*0,5 ABI
When the student returns to class after an absence, he/she must inform the teacher of his/her return and the reasons for the absence(s). In the case where a student has been absent from a course more than twice without justification (automatically resulting in an ABI for this course, see rule above), the teacher may refuse the student. In the case of long term absences (more than one week) or in the case of absences due to an official convocation (driving test, medical visit, citizenship day...), students must imperatively, even before the date of the absence (or at the latest 10 days after the return to class), contact the teacher in charge of their year of study, and provide all the documents justifying this absence.
The "unjustified" nature of an absence is assessed on a case-by-case basis. The application of a reduction is only made in the case where the student does not justify his absence in time or when his justifications are questionable or insufficient.
-
Delay
A student arriving late for a class, TD or TP may be refused by the teacher and considered as absent. A late arrival can be considered as soon as all the students are seated, the course has effectively started and/or the students are engaged in a supervised activity. In any case, a delay may be considered as such from the minute following the beginning of the course itself, as long as the course has not started in advance.
General provisions concerning the organization of examination sessions
-
General
The organization of examinations is governed by the provisions specified in the Examination Charter validated by the CFVU.
-
Examination Sessions
Two exam sessions are organized per academic year (according to the university schedule). The first session takes place during the semester.
At the end of the last exam session, students who have not attended the exam and who have expressly requested to do so and whose absence has been justified may be admitted to an exceptional substitution session organized by the component.
An ad hoc committee of the component is competent to rule on these requests. It assesses the exceptional nature and seriousness of the circumstances of the justified absence, based on the following criteria
- The occurrence of serious events that have physically prevented the student from participating in the test, such as hospitalization;
- A serious family event (such as death) affecting a family member directly related to the student (spouse, child, father, mother, siblings).
In the case of continuous assessment, it is up to the component to determine to what extent an absence from one or more tests that make up the assessment will determine the student's default status or the attribution of a justified or unjustified absence to the corresponding educational element.
The nature of these activities will fall under one of the following categories: 1) student commitment, 2) deepening of knowledge, 3) culture, 4) creativity and entrepreneurship. The LP GDOSSL with APSA does not fall under the "sport" bonus.
Concerning the four bonus categories, a common base of activities is proposed by the establishment, which is imposed on all components. In addition, the components have the possibility of proposing other activities within these four categories, while respecting the gradation levels for the bonus category concerned. These activities are listed in level 2 of the component's MCC (see Bonus Charter).
On the other hand, in the case where a student has to retake his semester the following year, he will not keep the benefit of the bonus points obtained.A semester bonus cannot be taken into account if the bonused activity is identical to the content of a compulsory or optional course present in the semester (example: it is not possible to claim a sport bonus if there is a sport UE integrated in the curriculum itself).
-
Types of knowledge control
Obtaining the License involves practical tests, written tests and/or oral tests. In each Teaching Unit (UE), the aptitudes and the acquisition of knowledge are controlled,
- Either by a final test (CF)
- Or by a regular continuous assessment (CC) and a final assessment (CF), each counting for a certain percentage of the grade of the course (the % of the CC and CF are determined according to the hourly volume of the CM and TD and are presented to the students during the course)
- Or by continuous assessment (CCI)
When the CCI is established, it consists of at least three tests spread over the semester, mostly organized in class. None of the tests organized within the framework of the CCI can represent more than 50% of the final mark for the course concerned.
Students who are absent from a test during a final exam must attend the second session.
In the case of absences from continuous assessment tests; if these absences are justifiable, upon the decision of an ad hoc pedagogical committee, the student may be assessed in 100% of the final test. If these absences are not justifiable, the student will be declared "failing" insofar as the competences related to ECUE cannot be evaluated. When an absence has been noted in the CC of the first session, this absence is transformed into 0/20 in CC for the second session. -
Injured student and presence at the TD and TP of the A.P.S.A.
The injured student must be present at the TP and TD of the A.P.S.A., if his health and mobility allow it. Therefore, he/she will be able to actively participate in all the situations of the lesson that do not require motor engagement. Insofar as he/she satisfies these elements, he/she will be graded as a continuous assessment, except for the part concerning only physical practice (the physical practice grade will then be 0).
Any early return to school must be clearly written by the doctor. This certificate must be given to the teachers concerned and to the pedagogical secretary.
Students have the possibility to consult their copies after the communication of the results, in order to verify that no material error has been made (the consultation of the copies is in no way an explanation of the reasons for the grade attributed). They must provide a written request (letter or e-mail) to the year's pedagogical director specifying the copy they wish to consult with a copy to the pedagogical secretariat.
This right can be exercised either by direct consultation for the written copies, or by sending a photocopy against payment of the corresponding fees for the MCQ grids.
The deadline for making this request is given at the time of the communication of the results. The date of consultation is specified a few days later, depending on the availability of the person in charge of the year concerned.
2020-785 of June 26, 2020 concerning disciplinary procedure in public institutions of higher education, to combat fraud, in particular by reminding students of the instructions and sanctions at the beginning of the tests, by active and continuous monitoring and by widely distributing the present charter.
1 Procedure in case of fraud or presumed fraud
The latter brings the matter to the attention of the President of the University, who refers the matter to the disciplinary section. Access to the student's personal data, which may be contained in a cell phone or any other data storage device, must be subject to the student's prior agreement, which must be recorded in the minutes. However, under no circumstances should proctors keep the student's cell phone or other data storage device beyond the end of the test.
Any possession during the test of documents or devices not expressly authorized will be considered an attempt at fraud and will be dealt with according to the procedure described below.2 Conduct of the jury
If the candidate is not excluded from the examination room, his/her paper is treated like that of the other candidates. In the event of flagrante delicto or attempted fraud, the jury deliberates on the results of candidates who have been the subject of a report, as provided for in point 1, under the same conditions as for the other candidates. However, no certificate of achievement or transcript of marks may be issued to them before the Disciplinary Committee has given its decision.3 Procedure before the disciplinary section
The University shall ensure that the investigation and judgment of cases brought before the Disciplinary Section are carried out as quickly as possible. Subject to the provisions of Point 2, until the disciplinary section has given its decision, the accused student has the same rights and duties as any other student.
A) Investigation operations
The president of the disciplinary section appoints a commission composed of two rapporteurs (one rapporteur from one of the two colleges composed of professors and one assistant rapporteur, a member of the users' college). This committee is responsible for establishing the facts by any means it deems appropriate.
- It must summon the person concerned, who may be accompanied by his or her legal counsel, in order to hear his or her observations.
The sanctions that can be pronounced are the following:
- Warning
The disciplinary section may also declare the group of tests or the examination session or the competition null and void for the student concerned.4 The procedure for acknowledging the facts
The President of the University may implement the applicable procedure provided for in article R 811-40 of the Education Code. The person concerned is summoned and the President or his/her representative proposes a sanction if the facts are acknowledged. The person concerned then has 15 days to accept or refuse the proposed sanction. The proposed sanction is forwarded to the disciplinary section.

Special provisions for specific populations
-
Educational contract
A pedagogical contract must be drawn up before November of the current academic year for high-level sports students, employed students, students with disabilities or serious illnesses, and students with special responsibilities in university life.
High level sportsmen and women students may choose, on the proposal of their academic supervisor (high level sportsmen and women), with the agreement of their academic supervisor and the Dean, either
- either to attend the normal examination sessions scheduled for other students,
- or to take part in the special session organized for high level sportsmen and women (in the case of sports constraints that do not allow them to take part in the common sessions).
Students are reminded that the special terminal examination system (in case of prolonged absences during the continuous assessment) does not only present advantages for those who choose it, since they will be evaluated on a single test as opposed to the continuous assessment or the combination of both. Consequently, high-level sports students are strongly advised to make every effort to participate in continuous testing.
The person in charge of teaching high level athletes is in charge of helping high level athletes designated by the above mentioned commission in their choices, the adaptation of their curriculum and its harmonization with the sports schedule. He/she sets up the tutoring and collects the official documents necessary for the follow-up (e.g.: invitations to training courses and competitions that may lead to absences, sports results, etc.).
He/she can help the student to obtain additional means (scholarships, medical follow-up, professional contracts, university rooms...). Students are invited to contact him regularly during his office hours.Obligations :
- To the person in charge of the high level athletes: the duly attested sports schedule and any modifications during the year,
- To the technical manager in charge of the student's sports career: the academic schedule for the current year.
-
Eligible students and trainees in continuing education
- For a second registration in a degree, the contract specifies the units and courses that remain to be validated and the grades that the student wishes to keep; he/she may keep the grades below the average and at least equal to 08/20 that he/she acquired the previous year.
Employed students must inform and justify themselves to their educational supervisor within five days for any unforeseen absence not related to their professional schedule.
As an exception, a student employee, at his or her express written request and in view of his or her work contract, may, after examination by the ad hoc committee, be authorized by the Dean to attend only the final examination of a course in the year of study in which he or she is registered. In this context, students are reminded that the special final examination system does not only present advantages for the students who choose it, since they will be evaluated on a single test as opposed to continuous assessment or a combination of the two. Consequently, employed students are strongly advised to make every effort to participate in the continuous assessment.
However, salaried students should be aware that taking exams is a right that can be enforced against their employer, who has a duty to release them for this purpose. Thus, a student employee cannot justify his or her absence from exams because of a professional activity.

Détail des unités d'enseignement
Framing AMU
The present M3C may be modified by the CFVU and brought to the attention of the students as soon as possible, depending on the evolution of the health situation.
The methods of control of knowledge and competences of the master's courses of the University of Aix-Marseille are organized according to three levels:
- level 1: the present framework of the institution,
- level 2: the provisions common to all the master's programs of a given component,
- level 3: provisions specific to a program: teaching models and M3C specific to teaching units (UE).
The level 2 and 3 rules of the components must strictly respect the level 1 rules of the institution.
The organization and conduct of examinations must also comply with the AMU Examination Charter.
Architecture and general principles of degree organization
-
Architecture
Each Master's degree is organized into semesters, which are themselves broken down into teaching units (UE). A defined number of credits (ECTS) is assigned to each UE. A semester corresponds to a total of 30 credits, distributed over all the courses that make up the semester. An academic year is composed of two semesters: it includes a total of 60 credits.
The Master's degree consists of four semesters: it represents a value of 120 credits.
-
Administrative and pedagogical registration
Annual administrative registration allows students to pay their tuition fees: it takes place only once at the beginning of the academic year and therefore covers both semesters.
Students who have interrupted their higher education studies for at least three years are entitled to annual administrative registration again.
The administrative registration must be completed by a semester pedagogical registration: for each semester, the student decides on the choice of the UE which he will follow, in particular in the cases where the course offers optional elements. This pedagogical registration is a prerequisite for registering for exams.
The program leading to the national master's degree is a four-semester program based on a recruitment process at the beginning of the program.
Admission to Master 1 :
- depends on the capacity approved for each Master's degree by the AMU Board of Directors,
- is subject, depending on the program, to an examination of the student's file and/or an interview and/or a written test and/or an oral test (the procedures for examining the file are approved by the AMU Board of Directors). The 180 credits of the license must be fully acquired by the student: no bridging or early passage to the M1 level is authorized if the license is not validated in its entirety.
In the same way, no overlapping is allowed between Master 1 and Master 2 (the 60 ECTS of M1 must be fully validated to allow access to M2).
Repeating the Master's degree is possible, in the first or second year, by decision of the jury.
Access to the second year of the national master's degree is automatic for students who have completed the first year of the same field at the University of Aix-Marseille. Access to the second year of the Master's degree is no longer automatic in the event of an interruption in studies outside the Césure program and provided that a constant link is maintained throughout the Césure period, as defined by the "Césure pedagogical manager".
Within the field of study, the assignment of the student to a typical program is decided by the field of study director, after consultation with the program directors concerned.Any student whose application has not been examined at the beginning of the Master 1 program at the University of Aix-Marseille or who wishes to change majors will have his or her application examined for entry into the Master 2 program. The terms of this access are determined by the components.
-
Principles of validation of credited courses
Principles of validation of credited courses
Teaching units can be acquired in two ways:
- by CAPITALIZATION: when the UE is validated according to the criteria defined below for each degree, the associated credits are definitively obtained;
- by COMPENSATION: when the grade obtained for the course does not allow for capitalization, the course can be compensated by the grades obtained for other courses of the same semester or year (see details below).
The semesters are constructed in such a way as to give the student the possibility of progressively developing his or her educational project.
Determination of the degree obtained
It is based on the overall average (MG) of the years making up the diploma, in the first and second sessions, according to the following levels:*10≤MG<12/20: mention Passable,
*12≤MG<14/20: mention Assez Bien,
*14≤MG<16/20: mention Bien,
*16≤MG<18/20: mention Very Good,
*18≤MG≤20/20: mention Très Bien with congratulations of the jury. For students who did not complete their entire degree at the University of Aix-Marseille, the calculation of the mention will obey the modalities specified above, but only on the basis of the average of the semesters validated within this university.
For a diploma obtained by total validation of acquired experience (total VAE), no mention is attributed.
Provisions specific to the master's degree
-
How to register
The program leading to the national master's degree is a four-semester program based on a recruitment process at the beginning of the program.
Admission to Master 1 STAPS is open to holders of a general STAPS degree, preferably in a program corresponding to the Master STAPS program in question:
- depends on the capacity approved for each master's program by the AMU Board of Directors,
- is subject to an examination of the student's file by a pedagogical commission for the field, which may include an oral interview to determine which students are admitted directly and which are placed on the waiting list.
The 180 credits of the Bachelor's degree must be fully acquired by the student: no bridging or early passage to the M1 level is allowed if the Bachelor's degree is not validated in its entirety.
Students may repeat the first or second year of the Master's program, as decided by the jury.
Access to the second year of the national master's degree is automatic for students who have validated the first year of the same field at the University of Aix-Marseille, and when access to the first year of this program has been authorized in accordance with the capacities and conditions of admission approved by the Board of Directors.
Within the field of study, the assignment of the student to a typical course is subject to the approval of the head of the field of study, after consultation with the heads of the courses concerned.
Any student whose application has not been examined for entry into the Master 1 program at the University of Aix-Marseille or who wishes to change fields will have his or her application examined for entry into the Master program.
-
Criteria for the validation of knowledge and skills applied in the institution
Validation of the Teaching Unit (TU):
A UE is acquired :
- by capitalization as soon as its mark is higher than or equal to 10/20.
- If the UE has constituent elements, the grade for the UE is obtained by calculating the weighted average of the elements that make it up. In this case, the respective coefficients of the constituent elements of the UE are specified in level 3 of the MCC specific to the course. These elements are also considered as definitively validated, whatever the mark attributed to each of them, as soon as the UE is capitalized.
- or by compensation if the semester is capitalized.
A cut-off mark of 8/20 is compulsory for the foreign language courses for non-specialist students.
If the UE obtained is made up of several elements, the latter are also considered as definitively validated (impossible to retake them in a second session), whatever the mark attributed to each element of the UE.
When a UE made up of several elements is not validated, the student keeps the benefit of the elements for which he/she has obtained a positive result and/or a mark equal to or higher than 10/20, from one session to the next.Furthermore, level 2 or 3 of the MCC may provide for other mark(s) below 10/20 (except for specific regulatory provisions), below which compensation for the UE is not possible. These thresholds can be applied at the level of the UE or of the UE component.
This is notably the case for the internship UE in M1 and M2 where a minimum of 10/20 is required. Below this threshold mark, these units cannot be compensated.Level 2 of the MCC applicable to the FSS Masters concerning the UE:
- Internship UEs must be validated with a minimum of 10/20
- English UE or ECUE with a minimum of 8/20
Level 3 of the MCC applicable to the FSS Masters concerning the UE:
- Master STAPS: EIPA: all UE must be validated with a minimum of 8/20 for the semester and the year to be validated.
- Master STAPS : APAS : some UE (specified in the GDE) must be validated with a minimum of 8/20 for the semester and the year to be validated.
- Master STAPS : EOPS : all the UE must be validated with a minimum of 6/20 for the semester and the year to be validated
- Master STAPS : MS : no minimum grade except for the internship and English.
However, if two sessions are planned, a mark equal to or higher than 10 out of 20 for a component within a non-capitalized or non-compensated UE can be kept between the first and second session of the same academic year, under the conditions set by the component.
Any UE obtained by capitalization or compensation is definitive, with no possibility of renunciation (a UE obtained cannot be retaken in the second session).
Validation of the semester and the year:
The credits attributed to each UE are used as coefficients for the calculation of the overall averages for the semester, the year and the diploma.
The UEs are compensated for each other within the same semester. The semester is validated by capitalization if the semester grade obtained is greater than or equal to 10/20, provided that the UE or ECUE grades involved in the calculation of this semester grade are greater than or equal to any thresholds set.In Master 1
For the validation of the Master's degree, two mutually exclusive formulas are possible:- either, the semesters compensate each other for the validation of the year and the evaluation of knowledge is carried out in a single session.
- or, the semesters do not compensate each other and the evaluation of knowledge is carried out over two sessions. This second formula is used for the FSS masters programs.
In the case of shared courses between fields, these must opt for the same method (compensation or two sessions).
In Master 2, the semesters are not compensated and the evaluation of knowledge is carried out in a single session.
A semester is validated by capitalization if the semester grade obtained is greater than or equal to 10/20, provided that the UE or ECUE grades involved in the calculation of this semester grade are greater than or equal to any thresholds set (see Validation of the semester and the year).Whether it is validated by capitalization or by compensation, an acquired semester confers in all cases to the student the corresponding 30 credits.
Attendance at all exams is compulsory, whether the course offers a single session or two sessions.
In the case of two sessions, all students concerned by the second session are required to take each of the tests relating to the UE not acquired in session 1. The mark of the second session prevails in all cases.
Validation of the Master's degree:
Validation of the M2 level is equivalent to validation of the master's degree.
Issuance of the master's degree:
Validation of the M1 level allows the award of the master's degree, upon the student's express request.Determination of the mention :
The mention is defined according to the thresholds indicated in the paragraph "Determination of the mention obtained in the diploma."
It is determined on the basis of the overall average of the first year of the Master's program for the award of the Master's degree; the degree of the Master's program is based on the average of the two years of the program, provided that the first year of the Master's program corresponds to the typical program of the second year. For students who have not completed their entire Master's degree at the University of Aix-Marseille or within the same standard course (or degree), the calculation of the degree will follow the procedures specified above, but only on the basis of the average of the Master's degree.Attendance obligation
Students enrolled in a program are required to attend all classes in the program. Any derogation from this rule will be exercised under the conditions set by the component.
Internships
The UE containing "internship" courses mentioned in the course syllabus are not included in the compensation. This means that these courses must be validated (grade >= 10/20), without any compensation being possible, regardless of the grade for the semester or the year.
In addition, students have the possibility of doing optional internships, which must be accompanied by an agreement. These internships are subject to prior validation by the course director and to a non-credited evaluation in the form of an additional UE.
Specific conditions for the Master STAPS
General provisions concerning the organization of teaching
The teaching units offered by the Faculty of Sport Sciences each semester are composed of
- either compulsory courses,
- or elective courses (choose courses from a list for a given number of European credits)
The training is given in the form of lectures, tutorials and practical work which may include internships and personal work.
During the TD or TP sessions, students are divided into groups by the administration. A student may not change group without the written approval of the person in charge of the year.
-
Attendance
Attendance at lectures is not controlled but students are strongly advised to attend lectures to increase their chances of passing the exam.
Attendance at tutorials and practical work is strictly mandatory.
Absences from tutorials and practical work are recorded by the teachers responsible for the course. When a student is found absent from a tutorial or practical work, the continuous assessment mark (CC) obtained is then reduced by a coefficient defined according to the number of absences noted, as described in the table below.
1 absence
(2h)
2 absences
(4h)
+ More than 2 absences
(>4h)
TD / TP CC*0,8 CC*0,5 ABI
When the student returns to class after an absence, he/she must inform the teacher of his/her return and the reasons for the absence(s). In the case where a student has been found absent from a TD/TP more than twice without official justification (automatically resulting in an ABI for this course, see rule above), the teacher may refuse the student. This decision can be totally justified by safety issues. In the case of an official justification, the teacher in charge will have, as far as possible, to integrate the student in another group of TD, TP functioning another day.
The "unjustified" nature of an absence is assessed on a case by case basis. The application of a reduction is only made in the case where the student does not justify his absence in time or when his justifications are questionable or insufficient.
1.2 Tardiness
A student arriving late for a class, TD or TP may be refused by the teacher and considered ipso facto as absent.
A late arrival can be considered as soon as all the students are seated and the course has effectively started and/or the students are already engaged in a supervised activity. In any case, a delay can be considered as such from the minute following the beginning of the course as long as the course has not started before the time indicated on the timetable.2. General provisions concerning the organization of examination sessions
2.1 General information
The organization of examinations is governed by the provisions specified in the Examination Charter validated by the CFVU.
2.2. Examination sessions
Two examination sessions are organized per academic year (according to the university schedule) in M1. The first session takes place during the semester. The second session, known as the make-up session, takes place in June. Only one session is organized in M2.
A special session may be organized for high-level athletes and for those who have received a replacement session in September. The UEs or courses to be re-evaluated in the second session will be those that have not been acquired either by capitalization or by compensation at the end of the first session.2.2.1. Taking into account justified and unjustified absences
The status of "failed" is assigned to any student who has recorded a justified or unjustified absence from a final exam. This rule applies to all examination sessions, for courses evaluated in a single session as well as for courses evaluated in two sessions.
Failure to attend will result in the non calculation of the semester average and therefore the invalidation of the semester.
Students who are absent during a continuous or final test have 5 working days to justify their absence to the school of the component to which they belong. This period starts on the date of the test at which the absence was noted.
At the end of the last exam session, the admission to compose during an exceptional substitution session organized by the component can be authorized for the benefit of the students who did not attend and who have formulated an express request and whose absence has been justified.
An ad hoc committee of the component is competent to rule on these requests. It assesses the exceptional nature and seriousness of the circumstances of the justified absence, based on the following criteria
- The occurrence of serious events that have physically prevented the student from participating in the test, such as hospitalization;
2.2.2. Taking into account exemptions from examination and validation of prior learning
The teaching elements affected by a validation of prior learning or an exemption from an examination are not taken into account in the calculation of numerical averages. These are established on the basis of the averages of the UE weighted according to the related credits.
2.2.3. Semester bonus
2.2.3.1. In Master 1
The practice of one or two optional activities giving rise to a semester bonus is possible: this choice will be expressed by the student when registering for the semester.
The nature of these activities will fall under one of the following categories: 1) sports, 2) student commitment, 3) deepening of knowledge, 4) culture, 5) creativity and entrepreneurship.
For the five bonus categories, a common base of activities is proposed by the institution, which is binding on all components. In addition, the components may propose other activities within these five categories in accordance with the grading levels for the bonus category concerned. These activities are listed in level 2 of the component's MCC (see Bonus Charter).
On the other hand, in the case where a student has to retake his semester the following year, he will not keep the benefit of the bonus points obtained.A semester bonus cannot be taken into account if the bonus activity is identical to the content of a compulsory or optional course present in the semester.
2.2.3.2. In Master 2
No activity can be credited in Master 2.
2.2.4. Optional internships
In addition, students have the possibility of doing optional internships in the Master's program, which must be accompanied by an agreement. These internships are subject to prior validation by the course director and to a non-credited evaluation in the form of an additional UE.
2.3 Types of assessment
Obtaining the Master's degree involves written and/or oral examinations. In each Teaching Unit (UE), the skills and the acquisition of knowledge are checked,
- Either by a final test (CF)
- Or by a regular continuous assessment (CC) and a final assessment (CF), each counting for a certain percentage of the grade of the course (the % of the CC and CF are determined according to the hourly volume of the CM and TD and are presented to the students during the course)
- Or by continuous assessment (CCI)
When the CCI is established, it consists of at least three tests spread over the semester, mostly organized in class. None of the tests organized within the framework of the CCI can represent more than 50% of the final mark for the course concerned.
Students who are absent from a test during a final examination must attend the second session.
For the UE and elements of UE having been the subject of a partial continuous control during the semester, the marks will be kept between session 1 and session 2.
The marks of the ECUE obtained within a UE not obtained will be automatically carried over to the second session but not from one year to the next. When an unjustified absence has been noted in the CC of the first session, resulting in the status of failing, this absence is transformed into 0/20 in CC for the second session.
Master 1 students who are absent from a test during a final examination must attend the second session.
These tests (CC and CF) are either written tests (essay questions or files) or oral examinations. All tests are graded on a scale of 0 to 20. These two types of evaluation concern both the knowledge acquired in the CM and in the TD.
A student who has not acquired the course but who has obtained an average in the course unit is not entitled to take the second examination session for this final test.
2.4. Jury, composition and competence
For each diploma or certificate, a jury is appointed in accordance with the law, on the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, by delegation of the President of the University.
The jury is sovereign and its decisions are irrevocable.2.5. Communication of results
Examination results cannot be given by telephone. Only the official results posted at the Faculty of Sport Sciences are legally binding.
The transcript of grades and the certificate of success for a diploma can be consulted and downloaded online via the ENT.2.6. Rules for consulting copies
Students have the possibility to consult their papers after the results have been communicated, in order to verify that no material error has been made (the consultation of papers is in no way an explanation of the reasons for the grade given). They must provide a written request (letter or e-mail) to the vice-dean in charge of training, specifying the copy they wish to consult with a copy to the pedagogical secretariat.
Students cannot be represented. No change in grade can be made following this consultation, except in the case of a material error duly noted in the grade report. In case of absence from the consultation of the requested copy(ies), the student may be refused the consultation of the copy(ies) for the following exam session. The President of the Jury, or the person who deputizes for him/her, is responsible for consulting the papers.
2.7. Disciplinary sanctions
Disciplinary power is exercised by the University's Board of Directors in a disciplinary section. This section is composed of teachers and students.
In case of flagrant fraud or attempted fraud, the supervisor in charge of the room will seize the documents or materials that will allow the reality of the facts to be established later. He/she will draw up a report countersigned by the other supervisors and by the perpetrator(s) of the fraud.ANY FRAUD OR ATTEMPTED FRAUD WILL RESULT IN SANCTIONS.
Sanctions can be :
- A warning,
- A reprimand,
- Exclusion from the school for a maximum of five years (this sanction can be suspended if the exclusion does not exceed two years),
- Permanent exclusion from the establishment,
- Exclusion from any public institution of higher education for a maximum period of five years,
- Permanent exclusion from any institution of higher education.
These various sanctions lead to the cancellation of the examination for the student concerned. However, the registration taken in the context of this examination is deducted from the number of pedagogical registrations authorized in the regulations of the degree.
Users who have been subject to a disciplinary sanction may appeal to the National Council for Higher Education and Research within two months of being notified of the decision. This extract relating to disciplinary sanctions is not exhaustive. It should not be used in this form alone. 2.8. Library discharge
Reminder of the provisions approved by the CEVU in its meeting of May 6, 2008: "Diplomas will not be issued to students if they are not in good standing with the library".
3. Special provisions for specific populations
3.1 Educational contract
An academic contract must be drawn up before November of the current academic year for high-level sports students, students in paid employment, disabled students, students suffering from serious illnesses, and students with special responsibilities in university life. This contract, approved by the Direction, refers exclusively to the terms of knowledge control, to credits and to the content of the courses of the current academic year.
It cannot be modified after December 20 of the current year. However, all provisions apply if the student concerned has not signed the contract.3.2 High level sports students
3.2.1. Terms of application
During the first term of the current academic year, a "joint committee for high-level sportsmen and women" examines the applications of students wishing to benefit from the agreement for high-level sportsmen and women and decides on the list of candidates selected for the current year.
Only unexpected changes in the student's sports calendar may allow him/her to change his/her academic contract (e.g.: sports selection...).3.2.2. Attendance
The obligation of attendance to the practical and technical sessions also applies to high level sports students. However, they will not be penalized in the case of absences justified by an official sports schedule duly attested and provided to the person in charge of teaching high level athletes. On the other hand, for all other reasons for absence, high level sports students must respect the rules applicable to other students.
3.2.3. Study arrangements
High level sports students can benefit from special measures concerning the duration of their studies. In this case, they choose certain courses for the current year and the corresponding tests.
The grades obtained may be kept afterwards, including those below the average, provided they are equal to or higher than 8/20.
As far as possible, high level sports students will be integrated into groups and teaching units compatible with their sports constraints.3.2.4. Examination of knowledge
High level sportsmen and women students may choose, on the proposal of their academic supervisor (high level sportsmen and women), with the agreement of their academic supervisor and the Vice-Dean in charge of training
- either to take the exams normally at the sessions scheduled for other students,
- or to take part in the special session organized for high-level sports students (in the case of sports constraints that do not allow them to take part in the common sessions).
During a session, in the case of a mixed evaluation "continuous assessment and final assessment", students who could not be evaluated in continuous assessment because of absences justified by their sports schedule, may request an evaluation in final assessment only.
In any case, they must specify their choice in writing to the Faculty of Sport Science's educational department at least one month before the beginning of the examination session concerned.
Students are reminded that the special terminal examination system (in case of prolonged absences during the continuous assessment) does not only present advantages for those who choose it, since they will be evaluated on only one test, contrary to the continuous assessment or the combination of the two. Consequently, high-level sports students are strongly advised to make every effort to participate in continuous testing.
When the student is on an internship or in a competition in France or abroad during an examination period, he or she may exceptionally request permission to take tests remotely. In this case, all precautions will be taken to ensure that the examination procedures are in conformity with those of all students (duration of the test, supervision, work without documents, etc.).
3.2.5. Follow-up of studies
The person in charge of teaching high-level athletes is responsible for helping high-level athletes designated by the above-mentioned committee to make their choices, to adapt their curriculum and to harmonize it with the sports schedule.
Students are invited to contact him regularly during his office hours.3.2.6. Obligations
Students benefiting from the convention in favor of high level athletes commit to
- Represent the Faculty of Sports Sciences in a dignified manner at sporting or public events (e.g.
- To the person in charge of the high level athletes: the duly attested sports schedule and any modifications during the year,
- To the technical manager in charge of the student's sports career: the academic schedule for the current year.
3.3 Students who are employees and trainees eligible for continuing education
3.4. Terms and conditions of application
Two working sessions of the salaried commission are planned: October of the current year and February of the current year (refer to the university schedule at the end of this guide for the dates and check the precise dates of the commission on the notice boards of each year of training).3.4.1. Knowledge control
Within the framework of his or her educational contract, the student employee can benefit from the following special provisions:
- For a first registration in a diploma, the contract specifies the courses that the student wishes to take according to the sessions and according to his/her schedule as an employee.
- For a second registration in a diploma, the contract specifies the units and courses that remain to be validated and the grades that the student wishes to keep; he/she may keep the grades below the average and at least equal to 08/20 that he/she acquired the previous year. The choice must be specified in writing to the secretariat of the year of study. The cycle directors sign the pedagogical contracts.
This measure only applies to students with a current contract.
3.4.2. Attendance
Students who have official status as salaried students and eligible continuing education trainees may benefit from special regulations regarding attendance.
In this context, students are reminded that the special final examination system does not only present advantages for the students who choose it, since they will be evaluated on a single test as opposed to continuous assessment or a combination of the two. Consequently, employed students are strongly advised to make every effort to participate in continuous testing.
Employed students must notify their supervisor within five working days of any unplanned absence not related to their work schedule. However, salaried students must be aware that taking exams is a right that can be enforced against their employer, who has a duty to release them on this occasion. Thus, a student employee cannot justify his or her absence from exams because of a professional activity.
The question of the evaluation methods for foreign students is important. Indeed, the level of these students could be badly evaluated because of the difficulties of writing a copy in French.
To overcome these difficulties, the Faculty of Sport Sciences can offer oral evaluations to some of these students. The foreign student may thus ask to choose his or her mode of evaluation (written or oral), a choice that will be submitted to an ad hoc committee. This decision will be the subject of a contract signed one month before the examination period (this delay will allow the foreign student time to evaluate his/her progress in French). If the student chooses to take the written exam, the exams will be taken under the same conditions as for other students. The precise modalities of the oral exams are left to the discretion of the teachers (duration, preparation time or not, etc....), the teachers' concern being to ensure as much as possible a comparable level of evaluation for all students.
This type of oral can only be organized for final evaluations and not for continuous assessments. Finally, these orals should take place during (or around) the exam period, after the end of classes.
Foreign students whose mother tongue is French are excluded from these special arrangements.
-
Two exam sessions are organized per academic year (according to the university schedule) in M1. The first session takes place during the semester. The second session, known as the make-up session, takes place in June. Only one session is organized in M2.
A special session may be organized for high-level athletes and for those who have received a replacement session in September. The UEs or courses to be re-evaluated in the second session will be those that have not been acquired either by capitalization or by compensation at the end of the first session.Taking into account justified and unjustified absences:
The status of "failing" is assigned to any student who has recorded a justified or unjustified absence from a final exam. This rule applies to all exam sessions, for courses evaluated in a single session as well as for courses evaluated in two sessions.
Failure to attend will result in the non calculation of the semester average and therefore the invalidation of the semester.
Students who are absent during a continuous or final test have 5 working days (reduced to 2 for students on work-study programs) to justify their absence to the school of the component to which they belong. This period starts on the date of the test at which the absence was noted.
- The occurrence of serious events that have physically prevented the student from participating in the test, such as hospitalization;
These are established on the basis of the averages of the UE weighted according to the related credits.
Semester bonus
In Master 1 :
The practice of one or two optional activities giving rise to a semester bonus is possible: this choice will be expressed by the student at the time of his semester pedagogical registration.
On the other hand, in the case where a student has to retake his semester the following year, he will not keep the benefit of the bonus points obtained.A semester bonus cannot be taken into account if the bonus activity is identical to the content of a compulsory or optional course present in the semester.
In master 2 :
No activity can give rise to a bonus in master 2.
Optional internships:
In addition, students have the possibility of doing optional internships in the Master's program, which must be accompanied by an agreement. These internships are subject to prior validation by the course director and to a non-credited evaluation in the form of an additional UE.
-
Types of knowledge control
Obtaining the Master's degree involves written and/or oral examinations.
A student who has not acquired the course but who has obtained an average in the course unit is not entitled to take the second examination session relating to this final test.

Students may not be represented.

Disciplinary sanctions
The University endeavors, within the framework of Decree No. 2020-785 of June 26, 2020 on disciplinary procedure in public institutions of higher education, to fight against fraud, in particular by reminding students of the instructions and sanctions at the beginning of tests, by active and continuous monitoring and by widely distributing the present charter.
1 Procedure in case of fraud or presumed fraud
The sanctions that can be pronounced are the following:
- Warning

This decision will be the subject of a contract signed one month before the examination period (this delay will allow the foreign student time to evaluate his/her progress in French). If the student chooses to take the written exams, the exams will be taken under exactly the same conditions as for other students.
