  • AIMS

    The STAPS license is a general license for the first 3 semesters. It mainly aims to develop in students in-depth knowledge of Physical and Sports Activities (PSA) in their technical, institutional and scientific dimensions.

    From semester 4, the STAPS License mention Education and Motricity aims to teach sports and artistic physical activities in educational and school environments.

    In the 3rd year of the EM License, the student must choose a course of study:

    • Course Teacher of Colleges and High Schools (PCL)
    • School Teacher (PE) course

    The holder of this training conducts and animates collective actions aimed at the practice of these activities for an educational purpose. He independently exercises an intervention activity by ensuring the safety of practitioners and third parties.

  • TARGETED STUDENTS

    This degree is intended for students interested in teaching in primary schools or in Physical and Sports Education in secondary schools;The aim of this course is to provide a general overview of the different types of education and training in the field of sports and physical education in Europe.

  • ADMISSION CONDITIONS

    Baccalaureate or equivalent

  • STRUCTURE AND ORGANISATION

    Semesters 1, 2 and 3 : common core.

    Semester 4  students choose the speciality; Education and Motor Skills.

    Semesters 5 and 6 : 2 choices of pathway possible :

    • Course Teacher of Colleges and High Schools (PCL)
    • Course Teacher of Schools (PE)

    Fundamental and methodological teaching courses, applied teaching and internship.

  • KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED

    Address all the dimensions of sport, technical, historical, psychological, sociological, physiological, biomechanical... This in order to build a solid theoretical base (a base of knowledge) and broad for future professionals. This multidisciplinarity in the knowledge acquired constitutes a richness for the students of this mention. One of the particularities of the STAPS license is to be anchored in three varied fields: the practical and theoretical discovery of many sports, a scientific and multidisciplinary university training and finally, a rapid immersion in a pre-professional situation.

  • PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO BE ACQUIRED

    • Analyze sports practices (and their conditions of execution) and teaching practices,
    • Program, design, implement and evaluate projects, sequences and sessions in APSA (PCL) / in all disciplines (PE) with reflection on interdisciplinarity,
    • Adapt the content according to the populations,
    • Organize and manage lessons (APSA or other disciplines) and cohorts of learners,
    • Present and communicate a project, Present and promote their career path and professional project orally, in writing and using TICE.
  • INTERNSHIPS AND SUPERVISED PROJECTS

    During his Personal Professional Project, the student is accompanied and guided in the construction of his project.

    In license 2, semester 4, the student will do an internship for a period of 10 weeks (in primary school for all students in the EM sector).

    In L3, the duration of the internship is equivalent to that of the university year (twice 12 weeks). The PE course offers two types of internship (different contexts and levels of education).

  • SUPPORT FOR YOUR LABOR MARKET INTEGRATION

    An internship office helps students choose and find their internships. A network of former students is led by faculty staff. Three associations domiciled at the faculty also work for the integration of students.
